Well, the Bears only hire "could be" QB's.
And yes, I am a Bears fan, although I am not sure why anymore:confused:

I rolled my eyes when I saw he was unretiring yet AGAIN, but I have to admit if I see a Vikings game on the tube I'll be more likely to watch it if he's the QB.

He seemed to do pretty well for the Jets last year until the wheels came off later in the season, so who knows. How well can you throw a football with a detached biceps tendon though

I'm not a huge NFL fan anymore, but name another player who has more heart than Favre? I don't care how many interceptions he throws and I don't care what team he plays for. I will watch him every chance I get because he may be the only player left in the NFL who doesn't play for the money or endorsements. Welcome to professional sports in the USA!!! Hockey still has a few players left though...

Yeah, a lot of people are painting him as this egomaniac who needs the attention or something, but I think he just loves the game and can't adjust to a life not playing football.

But as a long suffering fan of a pathetic team that makes even worse choices for QBs, I can sympathise with how Bart feels. We got your has-been Vikings castoff last year. Have to admit though, Daunte was doing some good scrambling in the first exhibition last saturday when our front line kept collapsing like a house o' cards.

An old cast off QB worked out pretty well for us in 1998 with Randall Cunningham. :) As much as it pains me to cheer for Brett Favre after rooting against him for so long, I will do it because he is the QB for my team. Skol Vikings!

I gotta admit I'm glad he decided to give it another go.
After Barry Sanders he is one of my favorite players to watch. If he has the ball there is no telling what's gonna happen. No play is over till the whistle blows unlike a lot of other QB's.
For those who are sick of his mug I really don't blame you he has kinda used up his 15 years of fame, but I'm gonna enjoy this!

That was a dark day in Detroit when he retired. :(

If anybody should've changed his mind and unretired it was Barry. Even if he had ended up playing for another team I'da been happy to follow his career and catch the highlights. Anybody who doesn't remember Barry, look him up on youTube and watch a highlight reel-- he was inhuman.

While you can't blame a guy who takes a job that is offered to him, whether it be in football or some other occupation, the special nature of this man's career makes his clinging to the sport seem sort of pitiful. I wish he would just accept the inevitable, find something else to do, and be remembered for the exceptional athelete that he was.

Hey, down here in Tampa we have four never-has-been's, probably-never-will-be's.:( Things could be worse. The rest of our team should be solid, but what good is an offense without a quarterback?

Favre is a GREAT QB, it's a hard thing to do, stop doing what you love to do and you feel that you can still do it. I'm glad that he's willing to give it another go. Retiring and coming back, that just entertainment......I'm loving it. If he wins another Superbowl what will they say then....hummmm.

When has it not been a dark day in Detroit...especially lately?

I live in Los Angeles and actually thankful we don't have a pro football team. I just don't get attached to one team that way and its way more enjoyable not beeing a psycho fan.

I really don't care for either the Vikings or the Packers. I do like watching Adrian Peterson though.

Re: Vikings Do It Again!!!!!!!!

Being a Minnesota Vikings fan for as long as I can remember, I can almost feel the heartache already.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited by this, much like as it is an unpredictable change that should be fun to watch. At the least it will add drama.

But the first two things that this reminded me of was:

1) the love boat
2) herchel Walker

Once again the Vikings are the circus of the NFL. As for the love boat, this may turn out to be a colossal long term scar.

I don't think I need to explain my Hershel reference. If Brett kicks his shoe off on his first play I know there is divine intervention in keeping the purple down.

At the very bottom is my Minnesotan pessimism that just when it looks up for the vikes to do someting special, we will mess it up.. In a very public way..

CASH for Clunkers struck it big in Minnesota. You can have the winer. I for one cheese head am sick of his antics. I have sold my tickets to the game in greenbay for that one. (actually gave them to my bro in law) I hope he gets a can of woop #ss on him when he comes here. I will go fishing that day on my boat.

Tampa collects QBs like postage stamps.

If I wanted to see something flip flop, I'd go fishing or watch politics. Vikings can have 'em.
