Sounds like you're having fun with it, and that's the main thing. Would love to see pictures as you go along.

Yeah, take pics. I regret not keeping a visual account of the progress on my ole gal. I have a pipe trailer, the muffler clamp idea should work.

It sounds like you've done good work. Of course I don't believe you've actually done any of it yet. Ya know, because there's no pictures. ;)

IMG_1877.jpgDeep C magazine ad.jpgAlumacraft specs.jpgHi, Lori! I have a 1958 Alumacraft Deep C with a 1957 Johnson Javelin 30 hp (see photo). The trailer I bought it on was junk, not the original anyhow, and I sold it for $50. My boat project is ongoing, and I get to it when I get the gumption and time. Right now, I'm working on the motor, next is cleaning the aluminum (whoa - lots of opinions about how that should be done - consult the forums), the seats are new and in the original pattern, and now I'm looking for a steering wheel because mine is in terrible condition. When I'm through (hahahaha!) this baby is going to sing! I've attached the alumacraft specs & an original ad in case you don't have them.
