Ok I have recently purchased a 1986 25' Crest Pontoon. This Boat was Made by Maurells. I am looking for the Weight capacities allowed on it and Number of people. This boat has been completely redone and I guess the Plate is gone. I dont want to overload the boat. I contacted Crest Pontoons, But unfortunately they cannot provide me with any info on any boats older than 2010.. Here is the reply I got back from Crest.>>>>>>>>
Matthew,

All Crest boats prior to 2010 were built by Maurell, and while we manufacture and market boats under the Crest brand name, we cannot provide legal documentation for your boat.

Thank you for contacting Crest Pontoon Boats

<<<<<<<<<<< I dont need any legal documentation, I just need to know how many people and weight I can put on this thing. If anyone has an old pontoon similiar to this one and you have a tag of the capacities, I would appreciate any info. I just dont wanna overload it.

It is a Model 25 made by Maurell. I can provide any other info or pics if needed Thanks.

I've had a couple of Crests of that vintage/size. Thinking they were rated for 10 or 12 people and 40hp due to the adjustable transom height (you didn't see as many "tilt" motors back then). Fixed transoms were rated at 70hp I think? Also, thinking there were larger pontoons available as an option - which very likely resulted in different capacities. Unless you're planning on inviting 12 people for a party on it, thinking common sense will suffice when it comes to loading it. Even if you had a plate indicating you were good for 12 people, you could easily overload it with just 10 "big" people..... especially if 6 of them were standing to one side or up front?

Yea Thats what Im thinking also. Mine has the fixed transom. The plate on the side of the boat says 85 HP Max, but I just have a 50. I guess where it is older and Im used to the Tracker Party Barge my Parents used to have, this one just seems to sit lower in the water and I was concerned, and didnt want to over load. I took it out the other day with just me and the wife and to me it looked as if the rear of the pontoons were almost completely submerged while underway. Thanks

Ok I happened to find a tag on the boat. It says 2400 lbs capacity, Is that everything including the boat (which I found to weigh 1200) or is it just people, gas, battery etc.......

Thinking if it included the weight of the boat, it would say "gross" capacity?
