Thanks, again I'm reminded about Dent's book.

Bottom Line Skinnywater: There is a huge demographic peak in this Great Country, (the largest we have ever had in percentage terms). History, (which Dent's books talks about, [at least his earlier books had some very impressive stuff about the history and results of past demographic peaks]. As yer web site below speaks to: we use a lot of credit in this Country, (the tendancies pointed out in yer linc by themselves stand alone are not a huge corncern fer me), it is easy to scare people by piecemeal arguments about segments of this huge Country. The present crisis, (sub prime) is both dangerious and a potential opportunity as we ran out of credit a while back and as the Fed loosens up money it could kick us much higher, (equity prices). Hard to tell where we will go right now, (in the short or near term 12- 24 months). I'm cautiously optimistic, (but I tend to be an optimist, and I only have one functioning brain cell). Longer term real scary, (again limited by the cornstraints of a single brain cell).

And who is Mrs. Jones?

She is me "straw women". Most salesmen or women, (I was a Stock Broker fer 22 years), used a straw man or women to practice their sales pitch. Mrs Jones has always been me favorite as she does not have a "honey do list", n' she doesn't talk back. N' you know ol' Murky likes the last word.

The easiest way to ABUSE credit is to lever up a single family home. Don't be shocked that it has happened: MRS JONES. It may not be over if the Fed "saves us" too well. The pain in housing (could), actually be good fer us.

This is what we are seeing, in spades, up in Canada right now. Again, our housing markets have been very hot with yearly gains of over 5-10%. This seems to have resulted in people cashing in on the beautiful rising quick equity suddenly showing up on their housing value and buying.....uhh new boats.
Canadians, at this point, seem to be ignoring the downturn in the U.S housing market as being a possible indicator for what may occur up here.
It will be an interesting couple of years coming up.
Question: is Greenspan still running the U.S fed. reserve or did he step down?...I may be out of touch on this.

I'll just bet the corporte capitalists would love to get their hands on all that Gubmint money.....
The S&L scandal & our present crisis shows that left to their own devices, the "Money Men" are out for themselves, & will whine about Gubmint corntrols, then whine to get bailed out when they screw up....
I, for one, am glad that the evil scheme that Duhbya & Co. tried to foist upon the American people was thwarted.....

I would not worry about private party's getting there hand's on SS, our leader's in government have already spent or leveraged it....part of Omr's treachous time's scenario
