I really don't know much about the motor but I know that while running the battery is not recharging what could the problem be

hello<br /> i dont think there is one on that engine. its just a rectifier. keep an eye on the battery water<br /> good luck and keep posting.

thank you but now I need to know where the rectifier is located on the motor to check it out does anyone know?

Eddie....look on the starboad side (drivers side) of the engine. Look for a tin can sitting on a triangular shaped base. There will be two yellow and one red wire coming out of it. This is the rectifirer. If you don't have a service manual, do get one. It will explain a lot of this. And do try and keep your posts' together. <br /><br />Thanks.

Eddie, a rectifier is a series of diodes. Kinda like one one way valves that allow electric current to flow only in one direction. When they malfunction, the current flows backwards as well as forwards if it's a completed circuit. Or no current if it's burned out. This is harder to explain than it is to diagnose. Buy a new rectifier, that would be the easiest way. nevjb
