Volvo 270T Trim & Tilt

Gday, Ive noticed some reference in my user manual for the 270T Outdrive that on the Volvo Penta gauge cluster there is a Light that tells you when the leg is down and locked in the trim position, On my cluster I dont have this light just Amps and Oil. What id like to know is where the sender is on the leg that powers the light so I can wire in my own light as its becoming annoying not knowing when the leg is in position.<br /><br />Cheers.

Charger, I'm getting this feeling of deja-vu, didn't you ask this question a few months ago?<br /><br />I think that you have the 270 leg but someone has fitted a trim gauge to your console - what do you think?<br /><br />Aldo

The 270's had the light, I don't think the 270T did. The reason is the 270T model has trim and the 270 does not and has only a tilt which was an electro mechanical lift.<br />With the 270T the drive mechanism for the lock is always all the way down and the trim mechanism is what raises and lowers the drive.

Nar wasnt quiet the same but similar yeah, I asked about the sender for a gauge as I have a gauge but I then realised the gauge I have in the console would be from the trim tabs that used to be on the boat. But then lately I noticed in the manual about a trim light and I thought that would be handy But seems my 270T wont need it anyway.<br /><br />My manual has the instrumentation diagram for AQ130/270 and next to the up and down tilt switch it shows a warning lamp indicating disengaged retaining pawl.

With a 270T, you would have a gauge. The gauge panel is probably rectangular with a toggle switch in it for trim up and down.<br />There are no round gauges for trimtabs that I have ever seen.
