I have a volvo 280 leg on my boat.
When I try to trim it up, the motor hums but the leg does not go up.
If you lift up on the leg and give it a helping hand it will go up.
When it is up, I can push it back down if I put the weight of my body on it.
As I look at the trim motor, I see there is no fluid reservoir.
The motor mounts on the side of a shaft of some sort.
There is a black plastic box on the top of the shaft with wires coming out.
I have the manual for a 280 leg and it looks nothing like what I have.
Picture wise this looks like the 280 leg, but I am beginning to wonder.
I was told by the previous owner it was a 280 leg.
There is a number on a tag on top of the leg.
The number is 280068.
Any ideas?
