Volvo 280 steering tube bracket???

I am converting my project boat from a mercruiser setup to a volvo 280 setup.
What is the best method for supporting a steering tube?

I have seen some that have brackets that mount to the bolts that hold and transom shield on (seen on some bayliners) and others that bolt thru the transom.

I still have the inner plate of the mercruiser if that could be cut and mounted somehow.

Any photos of different setups?

Teleflex makes the kit you need. Part 300614, it's for the older Volvo drives.
