volvo 290 help

recently re powered my boat with a small block 383, just a tad over 440 hp with just over 400 ftlbs of torque and i want to know if my volvo 290 out drive can handle it? its torn down right now for new seals and bearings, i want to know if this out drive can handle the new power. i know nothing about these out drives so this is a learning process for me.

No problem, but I would suggest you go to the DP (DuoProp) lower. You can put a lot more of that power to two props than a single prop.

seeing as how i do mostly water sports, tubing, skiing, wake boarding ect, would the current lower case work well for my application ?

also any idea where i should look for everything i need to rebuild the out drive? like a kit or something close? dont really want to have to piece everything together.
