Volvo 5.7 GI Outdrive vibrating?

Just purchased this boat a couple weeks ago. I noticed yesterday a vibrating noise, kind of like a pulsating humming. It lasts about 2 seconds and is about 2 seconds apart. It just keeps pulsating like that.

It's not all that noticable, but having replaced an outdrive before I may be a little paranoid.

I know the previous ower just put new props on after clipping something. I talked to the mechanic who put the props on, he states nothing else was damaged.

Any suggestions?

even tho its a new prop the hub could be slipping try the mark on the prop and hub trick? at least its a free test lol really sounds more like a bent shaft to me?

Does the sound change with rpm?

the sound keeps pulsating while on plane, doesn't seem to matter what rpm I'm running. No noticable vibration while on idle or at slow speeds (not on plane)

Sorry, not familiar with the mark on hub trick. Could you explain?

Pull the outdrive, you may have water in the bellows which will damage the ujoints and the gimbal bearing and make the noise.

irregularly running engine may cause vibration as well, timing, firing order, spark... aside from possible drive issues
