I'm in the process of purchasing a Skagit Orca 24. I have checked the info on this forum on how to identify the engine model but would like to request a little more information regarding year of manufacture and info related to the last few letters of the model number. The boat was advertised as a 2001, but from what I have read here, if the engine is the same year as the boat, that should be a red painted engine while this one is charcoal.

The engine is: 5.7 GSi PEFS. Serial number 401202511 3869059. Drive: DP SMI 95 M22 4202010734 3868913

So, those numbers should mean: 5.7 litre engine, GM block, Superior fuel system, Injected, Power Steering, then ??

Can we tell from these numbers what year this engine is? What does the EFS mean at the end?

Thanks

Re: Volvo 5.7 - Model Identifier Number Question

The EF in the PEFS part of the model number indicates a 2000 model year. The 5.7 GSi indicates it's a GM 5.7L engine and the I indicates it's TBI type EFI system. The 4012........ number should be the engine serial number, but it's missing a number. Should be 10 digits long

The drive model is a DP-SM Duo Peop outdrive with a 1.95:1 gear ratio. the 4202..... number is the serial number.

The 386 numbers you really don't need for anything. They aren't used for parts or anything.
