I have a 95 5.8 Volvo Penta setup. How much power does this motor have, its carburated. What pitch prop should i run? Pushing a 22' celebrity, Im curious what to expect for speed.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... 'round 250 hp, I'd think low to mid-40s for speed,.....

Ya need the prop that allows to motor to run 4800 rpms, at Wot,....

Thats pretty disappointing. I had a 3.0 Mercuriser that would push a 22' bayliner 42-44 on good water. I figured with an extra 150+ hp, it would do a little better.

Was that 42-44mph in the bayliner GPS speed or speedometer speed? A bayliner is a light boat, but true 40+mph in a 22' boat with a 3.0 doesn't seem likely. The Celebrity is a much heavier boat as well.

As for propeller pitch, you'll have to experiment with pitches until you achieve the recommended WOT rpm from the manufacturer like Bondo said. Number of blades will also affect top end speed.
