I have a 2004 Cobalt 240, 8.1 Volvo with power steering. I had to replace the steering "actuator" this year because fluid was leaking from a seal on one end of the actuator.
I notice that each time I run the engine, a small of pressure (I would guess a few pounds) builds up in the power steering system. I have been cracking the cap to the pump after use to release that pressure because I don't want to replace that actuator again. Any thoughts as to if the pressure build up is normal.... and if releasing the pressure is a good idea?
