I have a mid 80's model Bayliner Capri that has a Volvo Penta 125A motor in it. Took it "out" for the 1st time today, and didn't get any further than the dock. There is a copper pipe that runs from the water pump to the plastic strainer housing that is leaking water horribly. The pipe is hown as #6 on this schematic --> http://www.marinepartseurope.com/en/volvo-penta-explodedview-7742840-26-15776D.aspx and as I said, it runs under the heat exchanger and comes up and goes into the connector shown as #14 on this schematic --> http://www.marinepartseurope.com/en/volvo-penta-explodedview-7742840-26-15777D.aspx and that connector is screwed onto the stariner, part #12. The copper pipe has a rib on it where a sealing ring sits, but then appears to just be sitting inside the plastic elbow connector. There appears to be no clamp, screw, or flange anywhere to ensure the pipe stays in teh connector with a tight seal. Basically my water pump is pushing a ton of water up this copper pie, into that elbow, but when the water gets there, most of it is shooting back down and around the sealing ring. I have no idea how this pipe is supposed to stay in that elbow connector snug without some type of clamp system. Am I missing something? Could the plastic connector elbow and/or copper pipe be warped and not fitting tightly?
