Hello everyone,

I have been reading many of the forums and watching YouTube videos but I'm still struggling to figure out what's wrong with my reverse latch. All the issues everyone has had seems okay on my latch mechanism but the pawl is sitting below the catch bar itself. I can force it up and then it snaps right back from a spring but the pawl itself the hooks are below the catch bar itself. Shifting from F-N-R doesn't do anything and the drive can be completely lifted by hand easily. I ordered a new center spring thinking that was it but now I'm not sure.

Apologies for the bad pictures but this was the best I could get. (3rd is outdrive lifted)

The rod that goes up through support yoke has to not contact the bottom of the rod that lifts the drive. The top of the rod should protrude from the support yoke about 1/2” when the drive is down. The fact that the latch stays down means that the top of the rod is stuck in the upper suspension yoke or the rod that lifts the drive is not fully retracted and is holding the release rod down in the top of the yoke.
