Ok Gang,
I have a 2007 Four Winns with the 4 cyl. volvo in it. It runs loud but I've been told more than once that these engines do. I'm getting better with it each weekend.
I don't run all out with it but recently changed my aluminum prop to a stainless. I stayed with the same size 14-21. It bumped up both the speed and the rpm's.
I was running 41mph and 49 rpm's , a bit higher than recommended, I know.
New prop this weekend, 44 mph, 51 rpm's. This was hammered down and I usually am pulling tubers and traveling in the 25-35 mph, where my rpm's are 35-45.
The boat runs fabulous, I'm just concerned about the higher rpm's.
Any thoughts?
I appreciate your time and input. To have a local look at it, would be $75.00 to just look....... and it is running great.
Thanks again,
Larry

You are under propped, that engine has a max WOT rpm of 4200 -4600 rpm.
First verify that your tach is accurate before changing props.
