Another note on injectors, the motor is TBI and may not be able to flow enough for a 383, would need to be tested

What can be done to modify my stock 305 vortec to produce more hp. Just for the sake of reason i wanted to keep my 305 sbc just rebuild it. What can be done to upgrade it hp capabilities? I know i wont hit 300hp but get close if possible. I read that with certain cams and spring and rods that may be a possibility. I want to keep the budget simple.

Cheap and reliable is bore it and rebuild what you have. Less cost and no need to reprogram the ECM. Boring will give a very slight power increase but that's about it. Trying to build power using your 305 would be better to leave it as-is and go boating

you can get about 270-280hp at the crank (250-260 prop) out of a 305 vortec with a 4 barrel. for TBI, about 230hp at the crank (210 prop)

you need MPI to get 250-260 prop

Agree with AD, leave as is.

most you can bore an SBC is .06 (with sonic checking the walls)
