What the HE double hockey sticks? You have codes and thought that had nothing to do with your issue(s), good Greif

What low voltage codes?

If the 5V reference supply is low it may just be one of the sensors is drawing to much current. This issue happens often and can be found, but your thinking it has no bearing on the issue?

no....we only get the codes when we UNPLUG the sensors while the motor is running.......once we clear those out.....shut the motor off.....start it up with the sensors plugged in we don't get those codes

Do you still have code 81?
Is the 5V reference voltage at 5V?

Yes the 81 code has been there all year with no issue and before this issue. It says "Crankshaft Position sensor 81" or something similar.

I am not sure where to test the 5V reference voltage or should the techmate show that somewhere?

There is a 5V lead on the TPS, Temp and others and needs to be 5V
The Techmate will also show it

Good Morning and thanks again.

I have another IAC coming Tuesday. I will check all of this at that point and let you know.

Question - DO I just slap the new sensor in as is or is there anything I have to do to prepare for that like disconnect batteries......or I have read start the engine....run for 5 seconds.....shut it down for 10 seconds and then restart.....any of that true?

Disconnect the Bat, and don't pull or push anything on the IAC tip
Install, turn key ON and listen for it to move in/out

Turn OFF and wait a few seconds then start normally

Did all that and the plunger did not move from original position.
I am thinking there is something wrong with the 5v circuit in the ECM based on the plunger not moving when all the way open.....and when it's closed it's being told to open but thinks it's closed.

I found a used but working ECM, same motor (5.7 Gi-E) same part number Volvo Penta 3863334. I am going to take a shot in Lieu of the lack of competent mechanics in my area and spending hundreds on diagnosis.

Any reason the other ECM will not work with my motor assuming it's 100% functional?
