The boat started and ran fine at the close of last year.

When I go to start it, it turns over strong but will not start. Two distinct things are missing:

1. no fuel pump priming
2. no alarm test sound on start

So far I have tried:

1. I checked all the fuses.
2. The outdrive trims up and down strong. (suggesting good battery and voltage)
3. I cleaned the fuel pump relays
4. I changed out the fuel pump relays with the trim relays (trim still works strong)
5. I have checked for voltage at pins 86 and 30 on fuel relay slots (good)
6. I have tested for continuity between pin 87 on fuel relay slot and fuel pumps (good)
7. I powered pins 87 (fuel pump relay slot) with my power probe 3 - fuel pumps made noise
8. I changed the Engine Coolant Temperature Switch - (no help)

Code Scan tools are expensive, so I was going to try this approach I found on youtube:

Is there a belter way to read the DTC codes?

I was going to replace the Oil Pressure switch but I can't find it. Does anyone no where it's located? I found the oil pressure sender but not the switch.

Any help with trouble shooting this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Kevin

Is the kill switch ON?
Check for 12V on the + side of the coil when key is ON

The kill switch is on-- it turns over strong-- no fuel pump and no alarm on initial turn of key.

The kill switch has no effect on the cranking circuit. If its OFF (open) or if the switch is bad, the motor will crank but will not start. The Yellow/Red wire feeds thru the neutral safety switch in the throttle handle to the start assist relay.

With all do respect - I don't thin you have a clue of what your talking about-- look at the diagram you sent-- if you break the link at the safety switch-- nothing is cranking!!!!!!!!!! no voltage (more importantly current) will get to pin 85

Moreover-- I erad the entire EFI Diagnostic manual today - and solved the problem--

My boat does not have a oil pressure switch-- The manuals are wrong-- so they took the black/tan with to the oils pressure sender instead -- I changed that-- it started right up

Do other members a favor-- please don't speak if you don't know what you are talking about-- don't send wiring diagrams you don't under stand -- and with out names of said diagram---

people like you cost many time and money--

That's the neutral safety switch in the diagram. The kill switch(not shown) should not prevent the engine fron cranking since it is inline with the ignition side of the ignition switch.

@alldodge no good deed goes unpunished!

Third... He mixed safety and kill switch.

I don't understand what was fixed and how the issue wasn't present last year. "My boat does not have a oil pressure switch-- The manuals are wrong-- so they took the black/tan with to the oils pressure sender instead -- I changed that"

Thanks guys, but have to take a hit
kbielat, most all boats place the kill switch on the purple wire after the key. The way yours works says the kill switch is on the red/purple feeding the switch.

Good luck
