Back story, I have a 2370 SLC Chapparal, it has a Volvo Penta DP-C outdrive, and a 7.4 liter (454). I have had to the boat for about 1 year never had any issues until now. I had an over heating problem replaced impeller back flushed motor and drive solved problem. I pulled the carb off to check fuel flow, fuel was not reaching the carb, replaced fuel pump and fuel filter. Put the boat in the water started it, it will run at idle for a few minutes then dies out, like its not getting fuel. I pulled the plugs and put new ones in it the old ones were wet and needed replaced, still same issue. I know that fuel is reaching the carb cause i can smell it and the plug wires all look good. I was thinking about pulling the carb and rebuilding it since a freind of mine pulled it and turned it upside down maybe causing the floats to stick? Any help would be great cause im running outta ideas

Turning the carb over shouldn't make the floats stick. If the float is stuck there would be nasty black smoke and your engine would not run below about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Have you checked the quality of your fuel? Pull the line and pump some in to a jar or bowl and let it set for about 5 min and see if there is any water or crud in it.

Is the fuel left over from last year? Todays fuels have a shelf life of about 4 or 3 months.
