I don’t know how this works, but I am stumped right now. I got a boat last year and it won’t run. When I turn the key, there is no clicking. I replaced the battery, alternator, starter, and spark plugs. I also replaced the tilt trim motor but that’s different from the engine. A friend of mine thinks it’s a connection somewhere that isn’t good. Anyone have any other ideas as to what I could look at? Also there is clean gas, oil and coolant.

Start at the ignition switch. Get someone to help. With a test light probe the yellow/red wire terminal while the key is turned to start. Follow the wire to the control box and probe the y/r wire going into the main harness. Just near the starter there is a Bosch style relay that the y/r wire goes to and a larger one to the solenoid. There should be 12 volts at all the places tested.
Quite often the small Bosch relay or the wire connections are the cause.
