I'm getting water inside the bilge compartment through the lower inner transom plate, I'll show a video, Volvo penta 2007, DPS a unit, trying to fix the problem the easy way, probably some 3m adhesive, the thing is how difficult is to reach it, any help will be great , The picture shows where the water comes in

What do you see on the exterior of the transom? Nothing obvious?

I filled the bilge with water and tilted the bow up ,water was coming out through the corners of the metal and the transom, I was thinking on stack that space with m3 sealing, but not sure if that cavity is there for a reason ?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... I'd sooner think yer transom is rotten,.....

If so,..... no amount of sealant is gonna fix it,......

pull the drive, pull the motor, pull the transom shield (you have to blast the corrosion anyway) and check your transom. most likely your transom is soft.

and yes, your boat is 15 years old. which is the life expectancy of a boat.

Your problem could be something as bad as a rotten transom that is flexing to much or it could be something as simple as a bad transom plate seal only requiring a new rubber seal. I do think you are going to have to remove the engine and drive to diagnose the problem though.

That’s exactly what a mechanic told me ,the transom seems to be in a good condition, the transom plate seal seems to be the problem, filled the spot with 3m , in a week and doing a test in the water , but even if it work , I have to pull the engine out eventually and do it the right way 🤦‍♂️, thanks for the tip 👍

Is this outdrive assembly original to the boat as built ? Or has it been an upgrade on the boat in its lifespan ?
