Hi Guys,
It?s been a while since I?ve had to visit the forum, you have to love it when things run smoothly. I have what I believe to be a simple question. I?m in the process of replacing the bellows and gimbal bearing on a 2002 3.0l Volvo Penta with an SX-M 1.97 outdrive as part of the routine maintenance. Is there a gasket between the upper gear housing and the gimbal housing the only thing I can find in the on line store is the seal? If there is no gasket should I be using some type of sealant? Also I?ve watched a few YouTube videos some of them pretty funny but how hard should you have to push on the gear housing to have it go back together? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tim

there is no gasket between the upper gear housing , jest the rubber seal that goes around your water inlet
jest put some marine grease on there no sealant , and grease up the spline on the shaft , it should slide in easy. Don't forget to check the alignment
