Volvo Penta SX-M Outdrive Compatability

Got a 1999 Four Winns 214 with a 5.0 that I have been putting together and I'm hunting for an outdrive. The boat originally came with a SX-M according to what I have been able to dig up on the four wiins site and I have found an outdrive, Production number 3868891, gear ratio 1.60. Went through the manuals posted and can't seem to find this particular number outdrive. Does anyone have any reference material or can steer me toward any so I can determine if this outdrive could work on my boat. Appreciate any assistance you can provide, also any info on what year9s) this drive was offered, thanks

Volvo Penta's web site has some info on the SX drive. I believe it came out in the 90's, I think it is still being produced. Very reliable drive. I have an SX-M in a 2000 model 5.0, my brother has a 1999 with a 5.0. Both use the same gear ratio. So it should be fine for your application.

Perhaps some of the guys on this site could provide more info for you.
