That does NOT include pulling the outdrive or putting the drive back on, or the time it takes to get the parts, and gather up the tools necessary to do the job. Everyone forgets that's part of the job you have to pay for when you take it to a shop.

Don, my uncle pulled the outdrive off in 5 minutes, now I am waiting for the parts like you said, he is my uncle so I would hope I get a cheaper rate than the $75-90/hr he usually gets.

You dont have to pay 80.00 for a Bearing, I Replaced my Bearings on a 1987 Bayliner Capri 3.0 Cobra Outdrive and its cost was only 27.00 and thats the upper main. Kaman Industrial technologies 2561 South Sarah Street
Fresno, CA 93706-5034 (559) 233-2571 You may have a Kaman Co in Your town just Give them the Numbers on your Bearings and they should Have it. CHEAP!..

UPDATE!!!!

Ok, the total damage was $1,100

I needed 2 bearings in my outdrive replaced, and a few seals, and a new prop shaft. The runout was so severe that there was no way to bend it back. All parts are 100% brand new.

I was told on average this job parts and labor would have been $2,500-$2,800 and I am paying $1,100 because my uncle charged me cost on all parts.

Is this a good price? I get the boat back next weekend!

Should I be happy or mad here? I get to B.ust O.ut A.nother T.housand... Well my first thousand on it since ive purchased it.
