Volvo penta trim relay issue

Working on my Volvo Penta 5.7L GL and I'm having some intermittent issues with my trim relay. I'm getting a clicking noise even when not working so I think the relays are ok (pulled them out and cleaned just in case). I'm usually able to get it working by wiggling and pressing in the wires leading to the trim relay base/harness so I suspect corrosion in there.

Question is......can I pull those wires out somehow and clean them or would I need to buy a whole new harness and rewire it? They don't seem to come out easily and I don't want to tug too hard and break it for good. Picture below - appreciate any suggestions.

most likely you will need to cut the harness back and re-terminate.

easy to do with the correct terminals.

to pull the terminals out of the receptacle, you need to insert the proper tool to release the tab

copy that, thanks. I'll see if I can get them to release with a small screwdriver or something.

Looks like I can also buy the whole prewired harness for about $200 (volvo # 3857345) but I can't seem to find the harness without all the wires. If anyone knows if that is an option please let me know.

google VF4 relay socket or VF4 relay receptacle..

the socket should be about $1.50 each and the terminals a few cents from Mouser / digikey / etc
