Hi all, I have a 1986 AQ131A Volvo engine and a 275 outdrive on my Bayliner. I started getting some vibration coming from the engine/outdrive. My first thought was the gimble bearing but i was told there isn't one on the volvos's. However after reading some other posts I'm not so sure. Prop and shaft are in good shape. Any idea what other possible causes I should be looking at? Thanks in advance

There isnt a gimbal bearing, but there IS bearings in the housing between the engine and drive that could be your problem, as well as the u-joints possibly.

That bearing inside the bell housing is the primary drive shaft bearing, has to be greased by a nipple on the right hand side of the bell housing if I recall. Easy to forget about that one.
I forget if the 275 has the triangular shaped rubber exhaust flapper or not, that thing breaks off at the top and can cause excess vibrations too I think.
