Hello all, iv got big problems have a 201 liberator with a 1995 Volvo penta fuel injected 5.7 . The problem is once after 2,400rpm one of the injectors shuts down its a two barrel throttle body so I'm loosing half the engine. It runs fine at dock and runs like a raped date if u floor it from idle but after about 30sec of going it pops and falls flat on its face if I bring it back to idle and try again it does the same thing if I creep up from idle at 2400rpm it pops and falls out...I brought it to the local marina and they tell me it needs an ICM for 2500$ but from what iv been reading it seems like it's being out into limp mode for some reason and the exam is just doing what it's supposed to ..they replaced the map sencer he said it was bad ..any help would be greatly appreciated

You may want to see if the temp switch or oil pressure switch is set such that it is putting you into SLOW mode.

These are not the same as the senders that are connected to your dash gauges.

Do u mean the plugs or r they like a on off switch?
They look like the senders that go to the gauges but are just an on/off switch inside.

They actually will be somewhat near each other. For the temperature ones, you will likely see 2 items near the thermostat housing . One will be the sender and one will be the switch.

Same applies to the oil pressure ones but will be on side of the block.

I believe they are closed in a fail condition but may need to check that. Easy to do with the oil pressure switch. Measure with the engine stopped and then again with it running.

Looking at a service manual will tell you for sure.

Glad you got it fixed. No need to send anything. Just help someone else someday.
