I'm new to power steering. I've always ran basic teleflex rack systems. Just purchased a 1989 Baha Fisherman with what looks like a rack at the helm and power steering assist behind the motor, power steering pump on the pulleys. First off the steering is tight. Any suggestions? Fluid is low (type of fluid?) Cable? Are there grease fittings? Thanks

There are a number of reasons you steering could be tight, and low power steering fluid is one of them. ATF (Dexron) is all you need. If it's real low, once you top it off, run it back and forth a while and find out what is leaking. It doesn't evaporate.
