Volvo Sx outdrive question

I have a 1998 Volvo Penta out drive Sx-M and I can install a used SX-C but my question is exactly what is the differnce from the C to the M dive. Both are 1:60 ratio's and will bolt up exactly. Thanks in advance

most of the changes in that style drive were shift cone materials or coatings.
