Volvo tilt electrical problem

I have a AQ225E with an 275 outdrive. I am having troubles with the tilt relays. Sometimes it works fine and other times it just clicks. If I run a direct connection to the battery, the motor works fine. I ordered two relays from Iboats and it worked fine one time. Now the relay just clicks both up and down. Also I ordered the OEM relays because they said the other aftermarkets would not fit in the box. Well neither will the OEM from Volvo. They are a 1/16" too wide and 1/4" to tall. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help.
Thaks,
Dave

You may have corroded or loose connections somewhere in the circuits.
What is the Volvo part number for the relays that you got that don't fit?

876037 which is what Volvo shows as the replacement for the original. I have a full 12 volts going in to both relays. The only other connections are at the tilt switch and lilt up light. Could the switch be the problem?

That is the right relays, i've never had any problems getting them to fit. Are you sure they are OEM and they didn't get substituted?
Yes the switch could be the problem, along with every connection from the battery to the motor. Fuse contacts in the fuse holder are a problem many times.

When I called Iboats, the only thing they could tell me was that I could return them. Not the right answer. The bag has the right part number on the bag. But they call it a relay kit and the kit contains a plastic bag(21208687), a label(841242) and a relay(873765).

That is what I ordered and I ordered it from that exact page.

Re: Volvo tilt electrical problem

turned out to be the 40 amp fuse with corrosion around the glass. Both ends looked good and it wasn't blown. Apparently it caused just enough resistence.
