It sure is a well known problem. If your boat has even a little cabin, side wind makes it wander.<br /><br />Docking practise is good, and remember that you're steering by turning the lower unit and prop thrust. Unlike boats with a rudder, the lower unit doesn't work very well if the prop is not engaged. DuoProp isn't much different.<br /><br />By turning the drive in different directions and engaging forward/reverse most situations can be managed (although it takes a lot of work at the helm).<br /><br />There are different kinds of lists to fit to the hull to improve 'grip' in water, but they need some speed to work. A very good help would be a bow propeller which can move the bow sideways by the touch of a small handle (electric), but such equipment costs... <br /><br />Suppose it's cheaper than replacing the drive, though.
