Hi, I am new to this forum. My question is should I get fresh water out of the impeller inlet hose that I disconnected (with the engine not running) if i connect fresh water hose to the Cobra SX drive? I don't get any output from the inlet hose. I wanted to know this before I install the new impeller housing.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... It depends on yer muffs, 'n water pressure,......
It Is slightly uphill from the drive to the pump,......
That's a slight drawback with motor mounted raw water pumps,....
Hull in the water, the water level is higher,....

Try runnin' the water the other way,.... That'll insure the line is clear,....

You definitely should get water out of the inlet to the raw water pump. Make sure you have identified the inlet. The water inlet from the outdrive comes up through the outdrive and possibly through an oil cooler and/or fuel cooler near or under the engine before making its way to the raw water pump.

I'd bet it's the fittings or short hoses in the outdrive. Cracked fitting?
