VP 3 wire trim sender

I just purchased a 3 wire trim sender to replace the one in my boat. However the one that's on there now is a 2 wire. Can I still use the 3 wire to replace the 2 wire ? Engine is a 2004 4.3 GXI with a SX-M outdrive. Thanks in advance

You just don't use the middle wire.

On the 2 wire I have a black wire and a brown wire. The 3 wire has 2 black wires and a white one. So I just don't use the white one ?
