Does anyone know the part number for the 4-barrel Rochester carb for these engines? I could get it off the engines, but the boat isn't easily accessible now.
Thanks for any help.

What year?
The 225 does it have a letter after it?
They used the 225 for a few years and the letter will get us close to the year?
841047 Replaced by 3856393 This is for the 225D the 225E ,225F
3856393 is what used on a LOT of the AQ225's AQ260's too

Volvo Penta Engine Part Catalog - Volvo Penta
This is for Volvo parts in the US.Same #s just different pricing.
Oh yea you need to call the dealer as it is so expensive they didn't have enough ink to print the price:)

Thanks for the detailed info. The year would be 1971 if original, and the engines are definitely 225Bs. One carb was rebuilt by the previous owner, and one is in original condition, as far as I know. I find the rebuilt one floods very easily, and that engine very difficult to start when it's warm.
Re: prices-yea, the moment you add the word "marine", it's all gold-plated and not publishing the price is kind of irritating. I saw a new carb advertised for $695 recently. I could add throttle-body FI, but that's not cheap, and I don't know if that would be an improvement.

Adding the throttle body and the parts to do the change over would probably cost more.
Where you located?
Profile? Location?
I used to take all my carbs/starters,alt.
To a guy in Pasadena,Md.He did good things with old stuff.
Just thought you might be close.

My motor is a VP260A (350) and has a Mercruiser Rochester Quadrajet:

I just put a kit on it.

I heard that the jet plugs can leak causing flooding and/or dry carb. The fix is to coat the plugs with JB Weld.

It cured my hard starting - both after setting for a day or two, and when warm.
