VP SX Trim cylinder pivot shaft

Ive removed my drive every year for the last 5 years that I have owned my boat. My question is should it be extremely difficult to remove the pivot shaft for the trim cylinders ? Every year I have to beat it out with a slide hammer and it usually will be stuck to the last couple of inches. I have removed all of the bushings and cleaned and lubricated them every year but still it comes apart hard. Im wondering if this is normal since it is the only one that I have had the pleasure of tearing apart.

Some are hard to get out, some aren't. Depends on the model of SX. They aren't all the same.

Well Im not sure exactly what model this is the serial number is T0811237 if that helps. Is there anything I can do to make it easier to remove next year besides greasing it up which doesnt seem to make much difference ?

Looked at your profile and it looks like you have a 97 boat, and with the TO SN, that means it's the OMC version, not Volvo. Same drive, just the numbers don't match up with Volvo.
I would have to guess by your problem, that you have the busings with rubber grommets in the ends of the trim cylinders as shown circled in red, in the picture below.

If so, the rubber grommets act like a chinese finger trap no matter which direction you try to go. The just bind up. About the only thing you can do is remove the trim cylinder from each side
Later models removed the rubber grommet and tappered cylinder ends and had just the bushings. You can push them out with your fingers (if greased regularly) Not much you can do with what you have.
