Hello again folks. I have a 4 wire leg tilt. That is wired into the boat but not installed into the transom shield. Iam about to install the rebuilt 270 leg. is there away to test to make sure the tilt is working right before install. Also is it hard to install the bellows when installing the leg as one. I see pics of putting the top or intermediate on first. but not the whole leg at once. Hope that makes sence
Thanks Rich

the tilt mechanism mounts in the transom shield and doesn't need the outdrive installed to operate.
I would install the intermediate and lower first. Then, the exhaust bellows, then the upper.

Re: vp tilt help/and bellows ?

If it's a 3 wire motor, one of the terminals is ground (middle?) and the other two are for 12v, one for each direction the motor turns. To test, attach a ground wire to the ground terminal and 12v to one of the other terminals. The motor should then start turning. Attach the 12v to the other terminal and then the motor should turn in the opposite direction.
