Hi
Just bought an early 80's (can't find the data plate) 70HP VRO including Johnston controls. I had to switch the controls over from left mount to right by opening the control box to move the kill switch and swapping over the gear selector. As far as I can tell I closed the box up the same as it was when I opened it but when I run the engine it won't go back down to idle (unless I manually pull it back to idle at the engine with the cover off. Also lifting up on the warm up lever does not activate the throttle at the engine and it has little (no) resistance) The throttle does work properly when activated by advancing the gear shift fwd or reverse so I know the cable is not stuck.
Did I miss something during re-assmbly of the control box? Does the throttle or gear shift need to be in a specific position when closing up the box? There's gotta be a trick to this as the entire assembly was working on the previous boat.
Any thoughts wud be apprec.
Dave
