I have a 1989 johnson 90 HP. When I try to start it does not start redone carbs. No fuel in fuel rail. I took of the fuel supply from the pump and filled it with gas, It will start and run fine, done this several times. Is the fuel pump bad are can it air lock. I tried to order a rebuild kit from "I boats"(web) But I can't find the right pump. Model number of motor. J90TLCEM Can some give me a good part number for a rebuild kit. This is a VRO motor. Has oil tank. (The gas I put into fuel rail was mixed)

Do I need to rebuild the pump?

Re: VRO fuel pump ???

Disconnect pump to carb line and crank it into a container. Have the muffs on or the motor in the water to save the impeller.
Regular strong spurts - healthy pump
Strong spurts to begin with then tapering off = pump beginning to fail
Weak output or trickle = bad pump.

I tried that no fuel. I took the case that has the wires of could I have not put it back together right. I bought a fuel pump kit but is is the wrong kit, The reason I took the end of the pump to see if any of the gaskets looked like the ones in kit.

Check valves in the fuel primer bulb ok? Does the bulb get firm and stay that way after you prime?
