Thanks Dhadley , actually, I was just thinking about it and trying to picture in my mind how complete the mixing of the oil to the volume of gas would be as this would, over all, effect the lubrication of crank bearings, etc..
Actually the oil injection takes place inside the fuel pump chamber on the OMS pump where it mixes with the gas and is then delivered to the carbs. They haven't made a VRO since 1991. This OMS (oil metering system) has an idle ratio of 75:1 and a WOT ratio of 50:1. Most average users say overall the oil consumed comes to 60:1.<br /><br />This refers to Johnson and Evinrude outboards.
