VRO Pump Rebuild kit..LARGE O RING???

The kit I used to rebuild my VRO came with (2) items i did not use becasue they do not seem to go anywhere..

(1) a small O ring for the vaccum seal (mine was larger and still good so i reused it)
(2) A large O ring that is shown in the diagrahm (mine did not have this O ring in the old pump)

Anyone have any ideas as to the need for these or is it just extra in case your is a specifc type?..

VRO repair kits are for the rebuildable 1998 pumps and newer. These are the pumps with the replacable fittings. Older pumps are built differently but use the same diaphragms.
