VRO question

A while ago, I inquired about the weaknesses of a '99 50 JonnyRude. I had heard of oil pump problems. Advice came back that the '99 was OK.<br /><br /><br />I've picked up a 'Toon with a '89 40 VRO. Is there anything to be wary of with this model??<br /><br />CD

None that I know of, as long as the VRO is maintained....

If it has a 3 wire pump you should upgrade it to the 4 wire pump. Other than that the pumps get a bad rap for any faliure. It usually is not the problem.

link shows great explanation, and a pile of what ifs that better be right, or VRO will fail. Been there twice. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. premix your own and never worry.
