Re: VRO tank re-location

Hello Fluke88,

After disconnecting the oil line and relocating it I do the following:

1. Pour some of the oil you use in the tank into a quart glass jar and submerge engine end of oil line in it.

2. Pump the oil line bulb until oil but no bubbles exit into the jar. This can take a bit of pumping to be sure all air is out of the line.

3. Quickly move oil line from jar to engine connection and clamp well.

4. Run a tank or two of premix fuel until you are certain oil is being drawn from the oil tank.

As far as location of the tank goes, make sure there are no kinks in the oil line and place the tank in a protected spot away from weather and spray so there is no chance of water getting in it.

Hope this helps.

i learned one thing, do not get tank higher than the motor, mine was on the deck of my pontoon boat. 12" higher than the motor, the oil would siphon to the motor filling the carbs with oil.
