Re: VRO Upgrade? Dhadley,others
Well, I can tell you what I know. I have a 1989 V-8 (requires two pumps), My motor came with VRO. On 8-98 I purchased new pumps for 134.00 a piece. The new pumps required that I replace the pulse limiters, with new ones (included) they are a blue anodized color.

As I remember, I did not have a choice as to VRO or non-VRO as the 50:1 is the current replacement for the pump. My common sense tells me, that after many years of refinement that this should be a very dependable version.

Now, to confuse the issue a little bit. Now that Bombardier is taking over, will they make further refinements?

I also understand that a group of OMC engineers started their own business as the OMC was going bankrupt, apparently they go the extra mile with these pumps, make some improvments and rigorously test each one. Possibly these would be the type of improvements that Bombardier will make.

My personal belief is that the current version is a good one, and improvements to this pump seem minor (read for yourself)
