I've read a few posts where guys forgot to add oil to the fuel tank or grabbed the wrong tank, theres no alarm for that.
Another guy had an oil tank full of water , just a film of oil floating on top , so the alarm didn't sound. Silence is quiet.
If the oil tank runs dry the engine can run on fuel only, at low rpm.
