Saw on the net a pair of cracy Russians clean almost everything they used with W-40. My 450 Rib which is taken out of water after its use, began to develop a rough hull at touch along green mould scale build up after one year of constant use. So what the heck, sprayed the full contents of a small W-40 can on entire hull, let soak for 5 minutes, wipped the entire hull with a non abrasive plastic sponge pad. Bingo, hull Issues were removed fast while pad was being wipped through. W-40 made a great job, hull is shinny & smooth to touch, disperse water more efficiently than before and Rib has gained slight more top end at wot.. W-40 has my vote.-

Happy Boating.

wD-40?

Are you sure the propellant plus whatever suspends the light machine oil and thins it to be sprayable detrimental to the hull long term? Esp at or around the seams?

Sort of reminds me of using vaseline on a fiberglass boat. Short term gain in appearance only, not a solution or problem solver and long term not a good choice..

Good luck.

Know W-40 will be washed the sooner or later, was just posting the incredible cleaning properties achieved as we don't have fancy cleaning products as you guys have in USA, once completely washed out will have original smooth hard hull finish to slide much better than before..

What size Sea Rider? My brother got one about 10 years ago .It was a 26 footer I believe.Use to be a search and rescue rig and was just freshly redone when the govt offered to give them a new boat as long as the old was gotten rid of!Just for giggles my bro bid on it and won the blasted thing. It has a 6 cyl turbo diesel with a Berkley jet drive ,cab and some rig on the back which I have no clue about.Im pretty sure its a Zodiac .I guess its going to be a retirement project for him and should need just sprucing up .I keep hounding him to get at her as I believe she would be a blast at camp.Oh, his winning bid.1500 bucks!!
