If you want a better president then you must politically educate yourselves and your children to the issues that are important and vital to the future of the American way of life, its security and the well being of all of its citizens.
Until then it matters not what present political party you endorse, voting in the same crooks and shysters over and over which you have to date, sends a message of ignorance and apathy, therefore you deserve no less than what you presently have.
Perhaps the American public are correct in thinking that good honest and decent people make terrible political leaders.

I think you're right, and we have the "Dems" to thank. If we had a choice other than sKerry in '04 we probably would have a Demoncrat for pres. But it still would take a decade or more to heal from king goerge's reign of (war on) terror.

The only way to encourage better candidates is to drop affiliation with the Reps or Dems and register as an Independent.

That will send tremors through both the DNC and RNC, thus opening the way for someone to actually think she/he might have a shot w/o needing to please the incumbents and their entangled entitlements.

I knew I couldn't stay away. :devil: Since politics has gotten away from being a public service to being a way of life which yields great power and huge financial gains we have a bunch of people that spend all of their time trying to get re-elected instead of actually doing what they were elected to do. Term limits is one answer, tort reforms is another. All politicians anymore vie to see who can give away more goodies and entitlements to people that are so dumbed down that they don't know up from down. Bob F is right but without the huge war chest of money from one or the other party no one stands a chance of being elected.
