Hello everyone,I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help/advise.I've been wakeboarding behind an 81' Glastron Carlson with a 150 2 stroke merc. It's the only boat that I've wakeboarded behind. The boat has more than enough power .I'm 5'8 and 180 lbs.It puts out a nice wake. But I'm looking to buy a 08' 21' Hurricane deckboat with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke. Will this boat be OK? Power? Big wake? I'm interested in the boat because of it's versatility.Family, friends, fishing, fuel economy and watersports.Any input would be great. And yes I would test drive the boat before I bought it.Thanks

I would think a 21 deck would make a real nice all-around boat and give you a good wake. I rode behind a 22' aluminum hull Lowe deck boat and was pleasantly surprised how it rode.

You should be fine. You can always add portable fat sacks as well. That way, you can fill them and drain them as needed.

I had a 02 hurricane w/ a 200 hp outboard. We added a tower and 2 fat sacks(300 lbs each) this helped. is the boat your looking at a outboard. An inboard will give you a bigger wake. The deck boats are built to run flat with minimum wake so you will need the sacs and it doesn't hurt to have a few friends in the boat also. The tower makes a huge difference and there are many after market towers available that will fit on that boat.

I rode behind a Lowe deck boat a few times after we strip'ed the prop on the old Mastercraft. I can't remember how big is was but it had a Merc 115 hp on it. Got us up no problem and was good for pullling a tube too. The wake was pretty flat but we didn't try a fat sac on it. If your main goal is partying with wakeboarding in second, you should be good, unless you plan on bustin' some tantrums.:)

Yes it does have a Yamaha 150 outboard.I havent really considered sacks for weight, just people.I would add a tower.I guess I was more conscerned about power,4 stroke vs 2 stroke.I know with dirtbikes a 250 four stroke is comparable to a 125 two stroke.Maybe I'm thinking too much into it.I'm about to spend alot of money on a boat so I just want to be sure. Thanks
