Re: Wakeboard tower and fiberglass

I have 1997 sea ray BR, any idea how to tell if my fiberglass is 3/8" thick? What is the best way to measure? I am guessing drill one hole out, and get a measurement?

Hi all,

I live in Australia and Bayliner will not allow any after market towers, stating by installing a tower it will void all structural hull warrranties, i guess its a way to get us to buy new Bayliners with a tower, is this the same in the states

Hi mayoh, best thing to do is ask your question in a new thread, you'll get replies a plenty.

Cobalt Boats started adding steel plates, gelled into the hull during the building process, to allow for structural changes, such as a wakeboard tower, at a later date. I know most other manufacturers dont do this and it can lead to stress cracks from the mounts of the tower.
