Re: Wakeboarding Columbus, OH

We have the boat, unfortunately, I broke my leg boarding a few weeks ago. The boat is just sitting around now. I can still get it to the lake and drive if anyone wants to go. I know for a fact I have a second, always looking for that impossible third! HA! 1992 Bayliner 1950 4.3L w\tower.

Re: Wakeboarding Columbus, OH

I am new to wakeboarding and am looking to buy a board. Any suggestions of where to buy one in the Columbus area? Any suggestions or tips on buying a wakeboard in general? Thanks!

Re: Wakeboarding Columbus, OH

I've been wakeboarding with my buddies 3-4 times a week March - Nov in Columbus on O'Shanossie/Griggs untill this season. They lost interest and I am trying to decide how to proceed. I'd love to continue and if getting a boat would solve the problem I would seriously consider it, but I'd still have to find 2-3 dedicated people to do it regularly with at least one of them who can drive the boat so that I can do it too. And if not being able to wakeboard without the boat is bad enough, it would be even worse if I get one...

How is O'Shaunessy? We just got a smaller boat so we can take it on the river (old one was too big) but are not familiar with it. I hear that there are areas to watch out for; either too shallow or with stumps. Have you had any issues?

Re: Wakeboarding Columbus, OH

I recently moved to the Springfield area from NE Indiana (lake country), and looking for some good boarding water. From what I found, it looks like Caesar's would be the best place... like a miniature Dale Hollow.

Maybe someone here can help me with a couple questions on Caesar's:

1. Do they have a designated area for water sports?

2. Which area of the lake has the best water for wakeboarding?

3. Are there areas for overnight boat mooring near the campsites?

Thanks for your help...

1. There isn't a designated area for watersports.
2. There isn't one area in particular that has the best water, it all depends on where it is less crowded.
3. I am not aware of any overnight mooring for you boat near the camp sites. There is a dedicated boat ramp for the camp site to make it easy for putting in / taking out.

If you wakeboard in Ceasars you will want to go early, perferrably during the week. If you go on the weekend definitely go early. Mid afternoon through late afternoon it gets really busy and the lake is just way too choppy to wakeboard.
